Pat focuses his practice on business litigation and commercial disputes, including employment disputes, discrimination claims, trade secret, and restrictive covenant matters, construction claims, business tort and breach of fiduciary duty claims, partnership and corporate controversies, and claims concerning breaches of commercial contracts. He is also frequently involved in representing public and private sector employers in claims arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, and a variety of other federal and state employment laws. Pat also regularly counsels clients concerning compliance with federal and state employment laws and

regulations, and he represents plaintiffs in personal injury actions, including medical malpractice and product liability claims. He regularly appears before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, arbitration panels, and appellate courts.

 

Pat is a presidential scholar and magna cum laude graduate of Fairfield University. He earned his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law, with high honors, where he also served as a director of the Connecticut Moot Court Board. Before receiving his law degree, he attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine. In addition, Pat has served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Connecticut School of Law and is an active community leader. Among other activities, he is the past president of the St. Pius X School Board in Loudonville, N.Y., and currently serves as a member of the board of directors of STRIDE, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that provides athletic and recreational opportunities and education for disabled children in the Capital Region.
